When you receive your Nine Candles Galore candle, it will already be trimmed to the appropriate length for your use. Be sure to keep the wick trimmed to 1/8 inch at all times. The wick should be trimmed every 4 hours of burn time. Simply extinguish the flame, let the candle come to room temperature, and trim the wick to 1/8 of inch before relighting. You can use a wick trimmer, scissors or a finger nail clipper to cut the wick.
Keeping the wick trimmed to 1/8 of an inch at all times helps control the amount of “fuel” or wax that is present. By keeping the amount of fuel at 1/8", the flame will create ideal complete combustion where carbon particles are absorbed by the flame. This will mean that less soot is created while the candle is burning and you will get more burn time.
Candles should not be burned for more than four hours at a time. It is recommended that you burn it for four hours, then blow it out and let it cool for two hours before relighting. Stop using it when ½” of wax remains at the bottom of the jar. This will prevent possible heat damage to the counter/surface or container itself. The glass can get hot on the bottom as the flame nears the base of the jar and most of the wax has been burned off.
Always burn candles well away from drafts, other heat sources, anything flammable and out of reach of children and pets. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
